He chose you.
John 15:16. "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit!
Fear vs. Faith
The number one thing that keeps us from experiencing god fully in our lives is fear.
Studies show that 77% of your thoughts are negative.
Fear creeps into our life so easily - Fear from your past and fear of the future or the unknown.
The greatest power that fear has is that it keeps you right where you're at. You stop living and you stop dreaming. You lose your vision for life and you lose your passion.
Fear keeps you satisfied.
Fear tells you the safest place is right where you're at. Fear begins to cripple you and paralyze you and you don't even realize it.
Fear convinces you that this is the best it can be.
Fear holds you back.
Fear keeps you from listening to the voice of God.
Fear keeps you from your purpose in life.
Fear keeps you from experiencing God intimately.
Your life is too short to let fear make the decisions in your life.
But David tells us in Psalms that when we exalt the Lord at all times with our praise, we are lifted above our fears.
When we praise Him and worship Him it refocuses us on Him. This is turn reminds us of who He is which further reminds us that He overcame the world.
And when we worship Him we are reminded of His power and glory. When we see God as He really is there is no fear!
Jesus conquered fear so we could have faith.
Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him!”
2 Cor. 10:4-5“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary they have divine power to demolish strongholds, we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
Faith is believing God to do what He said He would do.
Faith is you doing what you believe God wants you to do regardless of the way you feel.
Faith is trusting God to guide you no matter what you're facing.
Philippians 1:6 “I am confident of this very thing that he who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians5:15 “Therefore be careful How you walk, not as unwise men but as wise making the most of your time because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish but understand what the will of the Lord is.”
God is calling you to put the foolish things of the world aside so you can influence the world!
Either the world influences you or you influence the world.
God is looking for people to change the world. God has not called the qualified. God is looking for people who have nothing to prove except to be a good son or daughter.
God is not looking for the ones who think they have it all figured out. He's not looking for the ones who have the Bible memorized from the front to the back cover.
God is looking for the ones that he can develop. He's looking for the ones who can admit their weakness to Him. He's looking for the ones that will spend more time listening to the voice of God rather than to the TV, radio, a pastor on YouTube or a best-selling book. He's looking for the ones who totally rely on Him. He's looking for the ones who rejoice in their weakness. He's looking for the ones that say, "Why me?"
You can live fearless by walking in God's love.
1 John 4:8 “God is love.”
1 John 4:18 "There is no fear in love, but perfect love cast out fear.”
The key to shaking off the weight of fear is staying plugged into what God thinks of you.
David was able to tap into this:
Psalms 138 “How precious also are your thoughts to me oh God how vast is the sum of them if I should count them they would outnumber the sand when I wake I am still with you.”
His thoughts toward you outnumber the sand.....
He never stops thinking about you. He wants to pour so much of His love into your life that fear is pushed out. God is more interested in developing you than in developing what you're doing.
There is an intimacy with God that we can only experience when we admit our weaknesses to Him. Nothing is worth more to God that our faith. God always calls us to "in over our head" journeys because for us to accomplish the task it requires total dependence on him.
John 15:16 “You didn't choose me but I chose you and appointed you that you should Go and bear fruit!!”
It says He chose you. He chose to appoint you.
John 15:4“Remain in me as I remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself. so it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit and less you remain in me!”
Fear looks and faith jumps.
Whatever your life looks like today, however hard it is, I encourage you to begin to thank God for all the things that He has done in your life.
As you being to talk to Him and thank Him and worship Him, there is the faith that comes that removes the fear in your life.
When you begin to concentrate more on who God is then He reminds us that he is bigger than our greatest fear and our greatest weakness in our life.
